My Ideal Mastiff dog… My Ideal Corso Dog…

My ideal mastiff dog is an extraordinary dog…a uniquely fascinating dog…a dog different than any other dog. A guard dog by excellence…extraordinary power…unbeatably and not corruptible Physically impressive…larger in both diameter and volume than the Corso dog. It has a very large head…typical of this breed…full muzzle…deadly grip…according to my personal opinion it never has too many wrinkles…in such a way that you can enjoy its antique expression…never look into its eyes…an instrument which he uses to challenge whoever dares to look for longer than need be. Its trunk is a spectacle of force and power…impressive bone structure and diameter…muscles which permit the mastiff rapid and sudden movement…never too heavy…clumsy…or physically limited in its bulk. Very serious…very attached to his owner…trustworthy…balanced…always alert… Very tied to the antique tradition of the Neapolitan Mastiff…”dry” dogs…athletic…the one is the black and white photo…dogs with little skin and a lot of substance…strongly built and with a strong character…dogs that were known for their heroic gestures…for their incredible physical and psychic robustness. I like a big mastiff…but never excessively too big for itself…the dog must always express balance in its form. Once you own a mastiff you will completely fall in love with this breed.

My ideal Corso dog is rustic, with an extraordinary physical structure… potent… massive… however agile… and fascinating in his movement. A dog that communicates his antique history is his expression, full of light…bold…always diligent… A respectful Corso has a massive head, a potent muzzle…that never reminds us of a Boxer, bullmastiff, or a Dogo of Bordeaux mouth. Its trunk shows power…force…agility…its physical structure in the rustic type permits it to do the tasks which for which it was made. The Corso dog has a very elevated mental stability which allows it to decide which is the right solution…loyal…never unjustifiable aggressive…however in case of necessity he can be a great and unbeatable defender and protector. Unfortunately the modern breeding has created a real disaster. Incapable people have transformed this extraordinary creature in an expose toy…a doll to show off on Sunday. My intention is to breed with passion, never following the market…never “selling” my identity nor that of this magnificent breed. First of all I choose according to my personal likings, the Corso dogs of the “Cinque Fontane” have to be liked by my…they need to respect the tradition…here in Puglia the Corso dogs are an institution…even though lately many “disasters” have taken place…with the approval of the Pugliesi people…my bloodlines include all of the founders of the old breed…sought out…handed down and selected with care…every dog carries with itself history. Corso dogs are not just any dog.
